Old Flowers Road
We had just finished Monument Gulch, and it ended right at the west end of Old Flowers Road. That was great because the sun was starting to get low in the sky.
With the sun at our backs we headed up the steep incline to start our fourth and final trail of the day. The CB chatter was getting quiet as the group was starting to wind down.
There were a few holes and mud puddles along the way, but for the most part the trail was a pretty smooth jaunt through the woods. We were on a mission to complete the trail quickly so we passed right by a cabin that looked to be in pretty good shape. Unfortunately, it had some not-so-nice graffiti on one end of it.
We were getting close to the east end of the trail when we came across a fantastic horse ranch. We took it slowly on our way through so we wouldn't scare any horses. It was quite the sight to see.
Everyone was all smiles and a little tired when we hit the pavement. It was still daylight when we aired up and reconnected our sway bars for the long drive home. Only a couple of us had dinner on the way back. What a great day of exploring! We will have to come back to the area to check out a couple of spurs that we missed on the other trails.
