Deer Creek
We did Georgia Pass and the North Fork of the Swan River to get up to the top of Deer Creek. We planned on connecting it with Saints John to do the big, scenic loop back up to Swan River. It was a bit overcast, but it was gorgeous.
The valley with the creek at the bottom is absolutely beautiful, and it makes it difficult to keep your eyes on the road. The trail is a shelf road at times, so you need to pay attention. We found ourselves stopping over and over rather than taking pictures out of moving vehicles. The bits of snow and lush greens in the valley were breathtaking.
It was a fun descent, and it was too short. It didn't take long to get to the tiny town of Montezuma. There were a lot of Jeeps airing up in town, but we didn't get close enough to wave or chat. We'll usually air up a bit farther down the road at a very wide and flat area next to the pavement rather than bothering the sleepy town. We weren't ready to air up just yet, though, so we turned to go up Saints John.
