Switzerland Trail
We just finished our fabulous barbeque on Coney Flats, and we wanted to run a couple of easier trails on our way home. The weather was perfect, and it should have been an easy trip. Naturally, it really wasn't.
Monica had some bad GPS information and a bad recollection of where Sugarloaf Mountain was. That meant we spent a lot of time wandering around the dirt roads on Gold Hill and not finding any actual trails. Then the weather started to turn.
It went from sunny to very rainy and very quickly. We all scrambled to put on doors and windows, but it was too late for a lot of us who were already covered in mud. We were still wandering around, and then we decided to just go over to Switzerland Trail and ignore GPS information.
We started at the north end and didn't take too many pictures because it was really raining. The water was running down the trail. Still, it was pretty and we enjoyed the trip.
When we got to the little town of Sunset, we went straight through to do the south end of Switzerland Trail. Much to our surprise, we took yet another wrong turn. This meant we ended up on Pennsylvania Gulch instead of doing the rest of Switzerland Trail. It was fun, though!
The trail ended up being wet and difficult to find, but we all had a great time just the same.
