The temperatures were a bit chilly, and winter was definitely on its way. We aired down at the big rest area complete with a marked place for Matt to leave his truck and trailer. There were lots of people with road bikes at the rest area, though there wasn't much traffic starting the trail with us. The skies were blue and it promised to be a great day.

It's a mellow trail, of course, so there weren't any issues. It was warming up a bit as we drove, trying to stay out of each other's dust. It's not easy on that trail.

When we got to the trailhead for Ptarmigan Pass, we ran that trail along with McAllister Gulch and it put us back at Shrine Pass, right where we left it. Then we finished the rest of Shrine Pass.

When we got to Red Cliff, Mark and Bob left us. It was Bob's 100th trail! The rest of us did Shrine Pass again, with a detour to do Lime Creek. When we finished Shrine Pass at the I-70 rest area, some of us went for pizza at Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs. It was a great day!
