We woke up to a rainy morning, so doors and windows stayed on the Jeeps. When we got to the trailhead it was lightly drizzling. At least it wasn't dusty. It didn't seem to make the rock any slicker and it wasn't too muddy, so it didn't change things too much. It promised to be a good day.

Bill had broken quite a few things on his Jeep the day before when we attempted Rusty Nail, so he was back in town waiting on parts to be delivered. The rest of us were on the trail, with Gary riding shotgun.

We all had fun dropping down the big ledge near the start, and by the time we got to our first overlook the weather had improved and it wasn't raining. We could even see the sun trying to come out. By the time we got to Monitor and Merrimac Buttes it was sunny and nice, though a bit cloudy. The temperature was perfect.

We stopped by the Uranium Arch and took a few pictures, but we didn't stay long.

We got to the Silver Crack and everyone was smiling. Most of us build our vehicles up to be able to do more difficult trails, and we enjoy conquering the harder obstacles. But then we get a fun place like the Silver Crack and we all turn into the posers we all are at heart. We were all grinning as we flexed out and posed next to each other in the obstacle. Loretta and Gary had multiple cameras each as they took pictures of us all sitting on our Jeeps. We had lunch there and it was a great visit even though it was lightly sprinkling.

We spent a little time just before the tippy section that you drive over right before getting to the end of the trail at Wipe-Out Hill. Monica and Matt don't like the tippy stuff, so they both took the bypass while everyone else went over the tippy section. Like always, it was really tippy but no one had any issues.

That put Monica and Matt at the bottom of Wipe-Out Hill when we needed to be at the top to continue along the Monitor and Merrimac Buttes trail. The weather was cooperating, so Bob, Mike and Jeffrey took turns driving down and then back up the obstacle. Then Monica and Matt drove up it and we were all at the start of the Monitor and Merrimac Buttes trail (see the pictures of our time on the Wipe-Out Hill obstacle in the trip report for Wipe-Out Hill on the same day).

Sevenmile Rim is always a great time, and this was no exception. It's definitely one of our favorites.

We had big plans to fully map out the area and finally do the Wipe-Out Hill trail. We had always done Sevenmile Rim and then hopped on the end of Wipe-Out Hill to do the big obstacle and head out to the highway. This time we were going to do…
