Mount Princeton was our first trail of a two-day trip near Buena Vista. We all met up in Johnson Village where we all gassed up and bought ice for our trip. Then we made our way to the parking lot at the Mount Princeton entrance and aired down.

Most of the trail on the way up was smooth and mellow. Then soon we were at the switchbacks and the trail got a little steeper. We stopped at a few place to take in the view.

When we got to the top at the end of the 4x4 trail there were two more vehicles at the top. There was plenty of room to park. We got out of our vehicles and looked around at all the mountains, and then we made our way to the lodge at the end of the hiking trail. We all looked around the lodge. It was a very nice place to stay as it was in very good shape.

After exploring for a bit, we went back to the vehicles for a nice drive back down from Mount Princeton. We did run into some other Jeeps and trucks making their way up the trail.

Soon we were back at the parking lot at the start of the Mount Princeton trail and we started our way to the next trail of the day, Boulder Mountain.

Report from a Different Day

September 17, 2005

Led by Monica I.
We ran this trail as the sun was going down, right after finishing spending the day on Mount Antero and the spurs off the trail. We figured it wouldn’t take long, and we were right. It took us about an hour and 45 minutes and we took a lot of…
