Hotel Gulch was the first trail of 2012 for the group. The day was nice and sunny and not too cold for a January day. We hadn't had much snow lately, but we still hoped to find some fun on our list of trails to do before the day was finished.

The first part of Hotel Gulch had no snow on the trail, but that changed fast. The first small hill that we went up was very icy, and Gary had a hard time going up the hill. He did make it up the hill after a few tries, though. No one else had any issues on the hill, thankfully.

It did not take very long to get to the end of the trail. It was a nice drive in the snow near the top of the trail. We stopped at the end of Hotel Gulch to see what trail was next and that was Ice Cave Creek Road. We made our turn and headed for the trail.
