Comb Ridge
We started later this morning for Comb Ridge because of the late night we had the day before. We met at the gas station in Blanding, and then drove to the start of the Comb Ridge trail, which was at the top of a ridge. Then we were going to drive down to the bottom of the valley and run a trail or two.
The very start of Comb Ridge was easy going with a few washed out areas, before the part of the trail that's cut into the rock. That short section has a few small steps to go down. No one had any issues with the small steps. As we came around the corner of the trail that is cut into the rock, we had great views of the valley below and the shelf section of the trail as it was leading down to the bottom. At this spot, we saw an old car that had fallen off or was pushed off the cliff.
The rest of Comb Ridge is the drive down to the bottom of the valley. It is slow going at times with only a few places where we were able to pass a vehicle going up. At the end of Comb Ridge, the plan was to run Hotel Rock. In the end, we made it only just past the lookout at the start of Hotel Rock. Hotel Rock was getting too hard for most of the group, so we went to Arch Canyon. There was still plenty of adventures to be had in the canyon.
