Arch Canyon
Arch Canyon was the second trail for the day. The first thing we did on Arch Canyon trail was to stop in the campground for lunch. The campground has a lot of trees for shade. After lunch, a few side-by-sides started driving down Arch Canyon. We went behind them.
In the beginning, the trail was wet and muddy, but it was fun going back and forth across the creek. Everybody stopped at the first ruins of the Ancestral Puebloans. We walked around and explored the ruins a bit. Then we made our way down the rest of Arch Canyon.
There were many more creek crossings as we continued on the trail. At one of those creek crossings, we saw a sign for hiking, and we made a note of it. We stopped near the end of Arch Canyon and turned around to go back out to the other end.
On the way back, Matt and Julie stopped at the sign for the hike to go and see what they could find. Jason and Sean kept on going to the start of the Arch Canyon to go back to Blanding. Matt and Julie found more ruins at the end of the short hike. After the little hike, Matt and Julie also returned to the start of the trail system.
Just before the highway, they ran into Sean going slow. Sean said he had run into a rock and his steering was off. Matt and Julie looked at his Jeep, but could not really see anything wrong with it, so Sean drove it back to Blanding and had a shop look at his Jeep. The shop told him to take it to down the road to front end alignment shop, and they aligned the Jeep for him and that seemed to fix the steering issues for Sean.
The Arch Canyon trail was really fun driving on with all the creek crossings. And the extra hike was a nice bonus.
