Weston Pass
Weston Pass was the second and last trail for the day, another popular trail we hadn't been on in 17 years. We drove Weston Pass from east to west to end up near Leadville. Weston Pass is an easy-to-drive trail that is very well maintained, especially on the east side.
We stopped at the first big open area for lunch. This area had some great views of the trail, mountains, and pass ahead. Behind us, we had a great view of the valley, as well.
After lunch we drove up to the top of the Weston Pass and stopped for some pictures at the Weston Pass sign. After the short break we went down the west side of the Weston Pass. The west side was not as well maintained as the east side. Nothing was too difficult -- the road just was not graded and a little narrow in places.
At the end of Weston Pass, we all aired back up before making our way back home. The weather was great all day. It was a great day to be out on the trails up in the mountains.
