Steel Bender
The weather continued to cooperate on this trip, with cool temperatures and intermittent periods of sun and clouds. It seemed that whenever we were out spotting an obstacle it would be spitting snow, but overall the weather was mild.
We ran the trail quite quickly with only three of us running it. We were soon at the optional obstacle and we all opted to go up it. The bypass seemed to be about as bad as the obstacle itself, with a good chance of body damage. Roger and Mike both made it up the obstacle with no issues, but Walt seemed to have a problem with one tire getting a lot of air. It seemed like he might need a safety strap, but on the third try he was up and over it.
We all went over the optional fin on the north loop, and we were soon at the downhill obstacle called the Wall. While we got out to scout the obstacle, a rented Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JK pulled up. It was the first vehicle we'd seen on the trail. Some ATVs came along and proceeded to walk their machines down the obstacle. We then took our turns going down without incident. The rented Jeep driver opted to turn around rather than to risk damage.
From there on out the trail was uneventful and we were soon back in Moab.
