Shelf Road
Shelf Road was the first trail of the day. We met up in Cripple Creek for the Ice Festival. The theme this year was "Super Heroes." We walked around the Ice Festival for an hour or so.
After the Ice Festival, we made our way down Shelf Road. Matt had a friend joining him who wanted to tag along without joining TrailDamage. This year, there were only a few spots that had some snow on the trail.
It was a nice day to get out for a drive. At one time it snowed for few minutes, and once or twice the sun came out, but the skies were slightly overcast for most of the day. We did not have any issues with Shelf Road. We did see a few other trucks out on the trail.
We stopped at the parking area for “the Banks” at the end of Shelf Road for lunch. After lunch, we went to Phantom Canyon for the last trail of the day.
