Mount Herman Road
Mount Herman Road was our last trail for the day. We turned onto the trail after doing Balanced Rock Road, and it was already dark. We had spent six hours on Balanced Rock Road helping a lone Jeep off of the trail.
Mount Herman Road was very icy most of the way down the mountain. We had to use 4-wheel drive to help out with steering on the ice.
Mount Herman Road was icy until we got below 8,000 feet. Then the road was mostly just dry with a few icy areas. No one had any issues working their way down the trail, but we were careful and going slowly.
The view of all the lights from the city of Monument looked really cool in the chilly air. Matt tried to take a picture of the city lights, but the picture did not turn out, unfortunately. It wasn't long before we were at the end of Mount Herman Road and on our way back home. We all had a great day playing in the snow.
