After doing Carnage Canyon up to Five Points, it was still early so we headed up one of the upper spurs of the Left Hand Canyon trail, skipping Upper Carnage. Left Hand Canyon isn't particularly hard past Five Points, but it is getting weathered and tippy in areas.

The Squeeze was a fun area. If you aren't careful you can hit a tree that you are tipped into, as many have done. We had no issues, though, and we cruised to the top.

At the top, you have several options to get out. You can go out Castle Gulch, down Fireman Hill backwards, go back out Left Hand Canyon the way you came in, or down Upper Carnage. We had never done Fireman Hill and it was rated as "extreme" at the upper kiosk, so we choose that route.

After Fireman Hill we went back to the Five Points area and went back out through the lower section of Left Hand Canyon. Surprisingly, we ran into a half of a dozen vehicles coming up on the narrow trail and had to back up twice to let them pass us. It was a busy day in the area, and we had a great time.

A lot of the trails in the Left Hand Canyon network had changed since we were there last so it was time to re-map the whole thing. We planned on weaving our way through Left Hand Canyon, Fireman Hill and Castle Gulch before the day was out, hitting all of…
