Kingston Peak
Kingston Peak was the last trail of the day. We started from the Tolland side so we could end up closer to home when we finished. The start of Kingston Peak was easy going, and uphill most of the way. We did see groups of people camping in a few spots.
Kingston Peak was fun driving from the north. Some of the hill climbs were fun going up instead of going down the hill.
The first overlook parking area did have a few trucks and Jeeps parked there. When we were ready to start the rest of the way to the top of the Kingston Peak, a person on a bike asked if he go before us. We told him to go ahead, as a bike moves a lot faster than a Jeep.
As we drove up, we ran into a few side-by-sides making their way down the from the top of Kingston Peak. At the last, long, big hill climb, a full-size pick-up was making its way down, so we waited for it to pass us. The hill had loose rocks and was somewhat steep, but none of us had any issues driving up the hill.
At the Rock House we stopped to take in the views. For a short time a side-by-side had its radio turned up playing very loud music. We just wished they would have respected other people in the same area and turned their volume down a bit more, but we let it go. After a short while, we started back down. None of us had any issues with the rest of the trail.
At the end of Kingston Peak, we aired back up and went home. It was a great day to be up in the mountains.
