Kane Creek Canyon
As we went to Kane Creek Canyon, we stopped just before the dirt road starts and aired down. Then we made our way to the start of Kane Creek Canyon. We waited at the start of the trail for a few minutes to give a group in front some space.
We stopped at some rocks to flex out and take some pictures and let some other Jeeps and side-by-sides pass.
When we got to the Ditch, we watched a Jeep go up and through the fun obstacle. Then it was our turn. None of us had any issues with the Ditch, but we all stopped on the rocks at the top for some pictures.
Poser Rock was fun! Matt, Niko and Carter went through the center of the collection of different-sized rocks. It was tippy but fun. Julie took the path to the right side of Poser Rock -- it was very tight but she made it through.
Then we got to Flex Rock. It was a tippy spot with no other way around it. You had to go high on right to get past the big rock on the left. Without going high up rock on the right, you would likely hit your rocker panel and door hinges on the big rock. It did take some time to get everyone through Flex Rock, and only Julie made it through without scraping anything more than skid plates -- everyone else hit the big rock on the passenger's side and scraped rocker guards and door hinges, but Julie went high on the rocks on her driver's side and got right through it in one pass.
Then it was time to head down the creek. We took the way that looked most often used down the creek area. There seemed to be a lot of different ways to go, but all met up at the end. We stopped at a big sand hill play area and took a small break. Then, two rangers on dirt bikes showed up. We talked to them for a short time. Later in the day we ran into the rangers again and helped them fix a brake fluid leak for one of the bike's front brakes. Niko did have some brake fluid, thankfully.
Soon after our break in the shade, we left the canyon floor and arrived at the big rock ledge on Hamburger Hill. We watched a few Jeeps and one side-by-side go up the rock ledge. It looked a lot bigger than the last time we ran Kane Creek Canyon. We all had to be winched up or pulled up the big rock ledge. Matt, Niko and Cater went towards the right side of the rock ledge, it was fun trying to get up the big ledge but we would just slide to the left where the rock ledge was just too big to get up. Julie tried to go to the far left and got high centered and had to be pulled up the rest of the way after spinning sideways on the hill.
Afterwards, we did the short drive up the shelf road. It was fun with great views of the canyon. At the end of the shelf road we ran into the rangers and stopped to help them out. After that, we walked down to the river to see a small pool of water.
Then we were at the last rocky hill climb at the Waterfall. Matt made it up and over, Niko and Julie winched up it, and then Carter drove right up on a different line farther to the left on the big slickrock wall. The rest of Kane Creek Canyon was not that bad. We all aired up at the end of the trail after a really great day of wheeling.
