Illinois Gulch
Illinois Gulch was the first trail of the year for the club. There was a storm dumping quite a bit of snow on us the day before, but the day was going to be sunny and great for Jeeping in the mountains!
We all aired down in the parking area at the beginning of Illinois Gulch. The parking lot did not have much snow so it looked good.
We made our way to Moab Hill. Some of the smaller hills on the way to Moab Hill were fun going up in the snow.
Matt and Niko were the only ones to go up Moab Hill. Matt took the center line up the obstacle and almost made it to the top, but with all the snow on the rocks he had to be winched up the rest of the way by Niko. Niko took the right side of Moab Hill to winch Matt up.
After Moab Hill, we continued to the end of Illinois Gulch. But on the way to the end, we missed a right turn and went down a big hill. So, we had to turn around and go back up the big hill. It took most of us a few times to manage because of the snow. But eventually, we all made it. That's what makes snow wheeling fun!
