Fins & Things was our first trail of our week in Moab. We got to the trail around 3:00 on Tuesday after driving from Colorado. It was nice and sunny out, and it was not too hot for Moab. We aired down in a small parking lot just before the start of Fins & Things and soon we were all ready to get on the trail.

The beginning of the trail was easy and fun while driving on the slickrock. Soon we were at the big slickrock play hill. We all spent some time going up and down the rock hills. None of us had any issues with all three slickrock hills.

The remainder of the first half of the trail was easy going, and soon we passed over to the second slickrock part of the trail via the dirt road.

For the second half of the trail, the fins just get bigger and bigger as you go. It was fun going up and down the fins!

We were able to drive fairly fast through the sandy section. It was very smooth, and everybody enjoyed banking the turns and jumping a little over the little hills. We stopped to check out the dinosaur in the rock that was shaped only by erosion, and then we took off again.

Soon we were at the last part of the Fins & Things trail. We all went up Kenny's Climb without problems. Then we all went up Frenchy's Fin. At the top, we met up with a few four-wheelers going the other way.

Fins & Things was a great trail to start of the week in Moab.

We had a “classic Moab” trip planned for the fall, when we’d do a few of the most popular trails in the area.  We usually try to do more new trails and explore new areas, but sometimes we just need some slickrock.  The Fins & Things trail has the best…
