Fern Creek
We drove up Rampart Range Road for what felt like quite awhile, and finally we were at the trailhead for Fern Creek. We figured it would be a quick trip down to the intersection with Long Hollow Road, and we were right.
For the most part, the trail was pretty smooth. There were a couple of places that had whoopdeedoos or small rocks, but otherwise it was mellow. We stopped at the intersection with 347.C to stretch our legs and visit, but then we were off again to find Illinois Gulch.
It was a nice trail and it had been a nice day so far, but we were hoping to find something a bit more exciting. Illinois Gulch showed some promise (a very twisty road on the map) so we were all excited to check it out. It wasn't long before were there, because Fern Creek was pretty short.
