Tomichi Pass
This was the first time for TrailDamage to run Tomichi Pass. At the start of the trail after doing Hancock Pass, the rain that had started earlier. It stopped after we did a quick walk around the mine and into the old mine shaft at the Brittle Silver Basin.
After the short break, the trail wound through a wooded area and then started going uphill fast.
At the top of the first hill, we used spotters because the vehicles' noses were up in the air so much that we were driving completely blind, and it's a bit tricky on this narrow stretch. As we were driving over the crest and down again, we could not see the trail at all until we were almost down the hill. It's not a big hill, but we were right next to a tall cliff.
We stopped at the top of Tomichi Pass for a few minutes to take some pictures.
Not far from the top of Tomichi Pass is a hiking trail that goes to a few different areas up in the mountains.
Then, shrubs and trees closed in on the trail so we probably got some scratches on Jeeps.
There were a few stream crossings as we continued downhill, but none of the streams were deep at this time of year.
We did see one or two camping spots as we made our way down Tomichi Pass. It did rain most of the way from the top of Tomichi Pass to the end.
Soon, we got to the Tomichi Cemetery. We had lunch there but stayed in our Jeeps because of the rain. After lunch, we drove to the last trail of the day.
