Yankee Hill
After returning to Alice from lunch at Loch Lomond, Gary, Betty, Mark, Kay, Theodore and the shelties (Lady and King) decided to take the Yankee Hill trail across to Central City. We took Mine Hill road as it is nearly across the paved highway from Alice. Near the top we stopped to view St. Mary's Glacier across the valley.
Gary did the hill climb up Yankee Hill itself as this was the first time he has been on this trail.
We proceeded down the east side toward Central City and surprisingly only met a few other vehicles, which is quite unusual as this trail is very popular with ATV riders and dirt bikers.
We finished the trail with the fun cutoff to the cemeteries above Central City. We had a pleasant trip and observed the beginning of the Aspen trees turning to their Fall colors.
