We all met up at a wide air down spot near the trailhead. We had a small group, and since we were in the area the previous day we did not need to air down. After talking for a little bit we decided to start up the trail. It started off as a gorgeous day.

We hadn't seen many people go ahead of us so we thought this might be a nice quick trip. That wasn't the case as the day progressed, though. We quickly made it up to Flopper and we all decided to take the left side of the obstacle. No one had any issues at all.

Next up was the V. We got out and looked around at it. The left side of this obstacle looked more difficult this time than it had in previous years. Todd went up the V first. He had no problems.

Steve was up next. As he was going up, his right front tire went into the V and he was getting close to being high centered. He backed up and adjusted his line and made it through.

Brian was up next. He had the right line, but with no lockers he had a little wheel spin. He made it look easy, though. Matt went through the obstacle last and he too walked right up it.

The rest of the trail up to Bowling Ball Hill was great. There was more water on the trail than we have seen before. At the bottom of Bowling Ball Hill, Steve's wife Amy decided to drive and show him how it was done. This was her first time out with us and she did a great job. Some of us thought she should drive on every trip from now on.

We all worked our way up Bowling Ball Hill with little or no problems. At Wheeler Lake, we had lunch and hiked around a little bit.

After lunch we started our trip back down. We encountered very little traffic on the way up, but the way down we came across numerous groups. No one had any trail damage (fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your view) other than the usual scrapes on the skid plates. It was a great trip with old friends and new. At the end we aired up and continued our trip back to Colorado Springs, where everyone in our group lives.
