Rock Creek
We've always had a blast on Rock Creek, so it was definitely time to do it again. The last time we were there, the early trail was covered in tents, cars, and campers walking around. This time, there were only a few people here and there. We thought it was because of the fire ban. It made it an easier time at the start.
It looked like it might rain on us, but it never did. Denver saw rain all day, but we only had sunshine. It really was perfect.
We came up to a Jeep modified to do tours, and it was full of people. They were parked to the side, taking selfies, so we waved and went by them. We saw a couple vehicles we'd seen on Pierson Park South, which was funny. We also saw an ATV with an entire family on it, with no one wearing helmets.
The climb up the hill is nice, and Niko was really having a good time as it is his first summer in Colorado. There are bumpy spots, and spots with loose rock. All fun.
We came to the spot that twists your suspension up before putting you into some bigger rocks, and no one had any issues. We stopped there on the way down for photos, too. It's a great spot.
This trail is more for the journey than the destination, and we didn't even stop when we got to the top. It's just not very interesting at the top. But we had a great time on the way down, too.
We stopped for pizza in Allenspark and enjoyed our time on the patio. It was a great day of wheeling.
