We were going to run Hell's Revenge but the weather had turned nasty. It cleared up a little as we were driving by Potato Salad Hill, so we decided to stop by. It ended up being a great time, with lots of people making it to the top.

Kendall tried a bit first, then realized it was too slick for his Samurai. He needed to run to the store, so he left. Dane tried it a little bit, but then decided it was wet and slick and he wasn't too sure about it.

Cheryl decided to show everyone that it was possible, so she went up first. She got to the top and expected to pop over to the other side like she usually does, but it was pretty slick from the rain and snow mixture we'd been having all afternoon. It was a little dicey at times, but she finally made it up.

Michael tried it next and found that it was slick over on the right side, too. He hooked a tow strap to his bumper and it gave him the security needed to really gun it at the top, and he made it up and over without an issue.

Dave tried next, and he cruised right up to the top. He took the strap as a safety net, but made it up on his own power. It was pretty slick even though the rain had ended.

Dane couldn't watch everyone do it and not do it himself, so he headed back down to the bottom to try again. He attached a tow strap to Dave's Jeep once he got near the top, which was a good thing. Dane gave it some gas near the top and his front end slid over to the the side. It may have gone badly if the tow strap wasn't there. He drove out of it, though, and right up to the top.

Bill was next, and though he took the strap at the top he didn't need it either. He drove right up the middle like it was easy.

Bruce went last, and he made it look pretty easy too. He also used the strap as a safety net, but didn't end up needing it. He also drove right up the middle.

Everyone was chatty and happy at the top. No one got in a very dangerous position, and we ended up saving our afternoon from the bad weather. We also got back to the condo much earlier than we ever do, so we had time to have a little party, which was a blast. It ended up being a really great day!

We got to Moab in the late afternoon and checked in at the condo, then headed out to Potato Salad Hill before the sun went down. It was a great start to our Moab trip — getting some wheeling in before we even ate dinner. Cheryl found the good line…
