We got to Moab in the late afternoon and checked in at the condo, then headed out to Potato Salad Hill before the sun went down. It was a great start to our Moab trip -- getting some wheeling in before we even ate dinner.

Cheryl found the good line up the middle of the hill a few weeks earlier, but didn't have any pictures of her trip. She even did it in the dark! She was determined to do it again, and this time she was going to have some pictures of it. Everyone checked out the hill, then it was her turn to go up.

She found her line, then Cheryl drove right up the center. She didn't even slow down, just working her way up and over the top. She wasn't exactly crawling, but she wasn't going very fast, either. She even got an impressive wheel stand at the top.

Robert watched from the bottom, then decided to follow Cheryl's line up through the middle. We all thought he'd get a huge wheel stand in his YJ, but he kept all four tires on the ground all the way up to the flat area at the top. He made it look easy, not even slowing down.

Don was next, following the good line. He kept right on going, with a little bit of spinning tires at the top, making us all nervous for a second. He only needed a second, though, and then he was up and over the top.

Kendall wanted to go up it in his Samurai, but without lockers it was proving to be too difficult. He tried a few lines and got some crazy wheel stands about halfway up the hill, but it was getting a little too crazy so he backed down. There was no use rolling on the first day in Moab, so he decided to take it easy.

We normally have so much trouble on Potato Salad Hill -- this was a nice change! It was cool seeing everyone go up it so easily, and hopefully this is how it will always go on this obstacle. It was a great start to our vacation!

We were going to run Hell’s Revenge but the weather had turned nasty. It cleared up a little as we were driving by Potato Salad Hill, so we decided to stop by. It ended up being a great time, with lots of people making it to the top. Kendall tried…
