Poison Spider Mesa was the first trail of the Trifecta (Poison Spider Mesa, Golden Spike, and Gold Bar Rim). We aired down at the trailhead. It looked like it was going to be a great, sunny day again, but cooler than the previous day we spent on Elephant Hill.

We all had fun on the early switchbacks but soon we came to the bigger ledges. We all took about the same line up the big ledges,

The Prelaunch Pad was fun, no one had any issues on it. When we got to the Waterfall, we let some side-by-sides pass us before we went up. Nobody had any trouble with the Waterfall obstacle.

Most of us went through the Wedgy instead of going around. The obstacle is fun and not hard, and you can get some good flexing out of your Jeep!

Going across High-Speed Mesa was not all that high speed for us. High Speed Mesa had a lot of wash boards on the trail making it very rough. But it wasn't long before we were at the intersection with Golden Spike where we turned off of Poison Spider Mesa to do the rest of the Trifecta.

It had been way too long since we did the Trifecta (Poison Spider Mesa, Golden Spike, and Gold Bar Rim), and it was one of our primary goals for the “classic Moab” trip.  It was Niko’s first time wheeling in Moab with his Jeep, and we wanted to show him…
