Phantom Canyon was our second and last trail run for the day. It's an easy trail with bridges, old train tunnels and camping areas with rest stops. Though there were some spots along the trail with a bit of snow on them we didn't have any issues along the way.

We couldn't believe it but the temperature was 70 degrees in Canon City. It was the middle of February in the mountains and it seemed so warm! The unusually warm temperatures had made the trail wet and muddy. We all enjoyed the nice drive back up to Cripple Creek.

We did stop a time or two to get out and take some pictures. We did not see too many other vehicles on the Phantom Canyon trail. Soon we were at the end of the trail and wrapping up a long but really nice day in the mountains.

Phantom Canyon was the second and last trail for the day. We did Shelf Road first after visiting the Ice Festival, and then finished on Phantom Canyon. It took us back to the Cripple Creek area for a nice round trip to Canon City and back. It was a nice…
