Mount Herman Road
Mount Herman Road was our last trail for the day. The top of Mount Herman Road had some snow on the trail which was good to see. Matt was up the road the weekend before and it had been just wet in some spots.
As we made our way down the trail there was some traffic coming up Mount Herman Road. A state police car, ambulance and a larger truck were all turning on to Rampart Range Road. The truck came around a corner really fast, but a collision was avoided in the last minute. We discussed it and thought it might have been a search and rescue truck.
Soon we were at the end of Mount Herman Road. The road near the end was wet and starting to ice up, so it was good timing. Driving on the trail was about to get risky.
We drove down the rest of the road to a small parking area for hikers and aired up. We all had fun all day. It was a great start to 2011!
