Mount Herman Road
The first trail of the day was Mount Herman Road. We met up at McDonald's in Monument, and then we drove closer to the start of Mount Herman Road to air down.
At first, the day was sunny and pleasant but later, the clouds moved in.
The start of Mount Herman Road was dry, but as we gained altitude up Mount Herman Road we ran into snow and ice on the road.
None of the snow or ice on the trail gave us any trouble, and it just made it more fun to drive on.
We stopped at the "play area" on the way up and on the way back down later that day. We all had fun playing on the big rock both times that we stopped.
Soon we were at the end of Mount Herman Road and made our way to Balanced Roack Road.
