Mosquito Pass
We were all excited to run Mosquito Pass and though some were disappointed at the lack of challenges we all enjoyed the views. You can see for miles at the top!
The North London Mill at the trailhead is very cool to explore so we had lunch there. Most of us wandered around the well-preserved Mill above timberline. After lunch we started up the steep climb to the top.
The trail remained rocky and steep and at the top we found a snow bank off to the side with some purple shading on the top. At the summit it was very windy and cold, a nice break from the August heat. After checking things out we headed down.
The way down was also very steep, with a cool view of Mountain Lake and Diamond Lake. That looked like good fishing and we could see the Lakes during the entire descent down the Pass.
No one had any troubles and we got to do an historic trail. It was great time.
