Moody Hill
We had a couple new members for our first TrailDamage run on Moody Hill. It rained like crazy while we had lunch at the Rock Quarry but we still had a blast.
We started out missing three members who were supposed to meet us there, and immediately had other vehicles coming down the trail so we needed to pull over. We were all getting to the top of the Hill when Bob and Brian were on the CB letting us know they were at the trailhead airing down. We hung out for a few minutes at the first flat part of the trail and they caught up with us.
The first section was pretty fun and no one had any issues. The trees and plants were really green from all of the rain and it was gorgeous. We all gawked at the house that is right off the trail (must be nice!).
We went to go check out the Rock Quarry (of course) and were all parked in the flat area in the middle as Kendall went down to the bottom to try it first. He was turning around and managed to high-center himself on a rock, so Bob went down and gave him a little tug with a tow strap to get him unstuck. Then Kendall did the lower obstacle and the upper obstacle without any problems at all, right when it was starting to pour.
It was raining pretty hard so most of us got in our vehicles to eat lunch and wait for it to pass. As soon as it was over, Kendall wanted to run it again so we could watch and get pictures.
He didn't have too many issues on the lower obstacle again, but then the upper obstacle gave him some troubles. He was spinning tires and having a lot of trouble getting enough power in his Samurai to get up the sandy hill. He finally made it, though.
Bob went next and didn't have any issues on either the lower obstacle or the upper obstacle. He even went down the lower obstacle backwards.
Then Ladd tried the lower obstacle, first without his lockers. He tried a few different lines but eventually went up the left side like everyone else, with the lockers. He didn't have any problems on the upper obstacle, making it look easy.
We took off after that and played on the pile of rocks at the bottom of the obstacle (the lower spur road from it). The rest of the trail was pretty mellow and we got to the crossroads and started up Crystal Mountain.
