Moab Rim
After Cliff Hanger we went straight to Moab Rim. This was the first time for Gary and Bob, so Ladd led the way. We waited while three Jeeps came down. They took their time, as did we on the way back.
Ladd showed us the line for the Devil's Crack, the next obstacle, and the Z Turn. We all took our time and crawled through them with no real problems. The Z Turn is hard but with a good line it went just fine. The whole lower section is tippy and off-camber. The river was pretty with the sun shining on it, but a long way down!
We went on up to the top and stopped for a late lunch -- it was around 2:00PM. The weather was great and we had a nice view of Moab.
Gary's son drove most of the way back down and led the way. Gary spotted for him, Bob and Ladd. Gary did a great job spotting, making a scary trip go easily. Ladd showed us the problem with the Devil's Crack going down, and we all had good lines so we had no problems. This is not a place for those afraid of heights, especially off-camber heights!
We all headed back to town so Gary's family could pick up their van and find a camping spot for the night. It was still early and Ladd said we should go look at Potato Salad Hill, so we were off to yet another Moab location.
