Moab Rim
We hit the trailhead at around 9AM and aired down and got ready to go, then we just jumped right on it. It took about an hour to get to the top and enjoy the view. It was a bit overcast, windy and just a bit cool.
This is a unique trail because you seem to be so close the big drop off and always tippy in the outward direction. We took our time looking each ledge over and picking nice lines.
The Z Turn is the toughest spot, where you turn into the cliff and do a zigzag. We like to scout an obstacle first, find a line and give it a go with little or no spotting. We didn't spend much time stacking or pushing it because we knew we had a week of wheeling to do this trip to Moab. After a few minutes Ladd strapped Sean up the first ledge in the Z Turn. We didn't have any troubles with the second lip of the obstacle or the rest of the trail.
At the top we found another Jeep with three guys enjoying the view. They started down ahead of us, but we caught them by the time we got to The Z Turn. They watched us come down and decided they could use some company for the day, so we stuck together for the rest of the drive down.
It was about a two-hour round trip, and a great way to get started in Moab.
