Metberry Gulch was the last trail of the day on the last day of trails of 2021.

Most of Metberry was easy going. The mud area was mostly dried up with little to no water anywhere.

At the "Y" intersection by the power lines, we went to the left. Soon we were at a big rock that we had to drive one side of the Jeep on while the passenger side of had to straddle the side of the hill and an even bigger rock to pass. It was tippy at the same time. No one had any issues with it.

Afterwards, we came to Chicken Scratch Hill. Matt went straight down with no issues. At the bottom of Chicken Scratch Hill, we ran into a group ready to go up but pulled off to the side so Matt and Jason could pass.

Jason was not so sure about going down Chicken Scratch Hill. He was still stopped at the top when Matt was done. Matt walked back and spotted Jason down Chicken Scratch Hill. Jason did not have any issues with that bit of encouragement. He made it down Chicken Scratch Hill just fine.

At the end of Metberry Gulch we stopped for a short break near the river before going back up.

After making it up Chicken Scratch Hill, Jason said it was very easy going up the hill after all.

Then we made it back to the start of Metberry Gulch and went back to the same spot that we aired down at and aired back up. That wrapped up a great year of wheeling.

By the time we made it to Metberry Gulch, only Matt and Mike were on the run because the rest of the group had to head for home.  Just like Hackett Gulch and Longwater Gulch, Metberry Gulch had snow on the trail.  We did not have any issues with it, though.  At the “Y”…
