La Salle Pass was the second and last trail that we ran for the day. La Salle Pass is a great trail to run after China Wall, which is what we did.

When we began La Salle Pass, we could see that the clouds were starting to build up and that a storm was coming in. Yet, it didn’t rain until we got to the end of the La Salle Pass trail. We enjoyed the nice drive down the easy trail, which did not require four-wheel drive.

At the top of La Salle Pass we stopped for a short break. Then we finished the trail. Going downhill, the trees opened up and then we had a great view of the mountains and Eleven Mile Reservoir. By this time it was getting very cloudy.

We stopped by a sign that had a map for the area. This is where we aired up and started home, all before the rain moved in. Perfect!

This was our first trail run of 2014, and it wasn’t starting out well. Matt was supposed to run trails with another member, but that member didn’t show up. That left Matt on his own to check out some new trails. It wasn’t all bad, though, because it was a…
