Illinois Gulch
This was our first trail of the new year, and it was going to be a great day with awesome weather! There was a winter storm moving in later that night, but it didn't affect us and our day on the trails.
We aired down in the parking lot for Rainbow Falls. As we were leaving, two Jeeps and one Bronco pulled into the parking area. They took the same trails as we did all day, but no one got in each other's way.
We all went up the first small hill climb before Moab Hill. It was fun and no one had any issues with the uphill section.
Afterwards, everyone went up Moab Hill except for Walt. He said he had done it many times before so he waited this one out. Matt went up first, and he had to try one or two times to find the correct line. So so did the rest of the group, and we all had fun with it.
After our play time on Moab Hill, we continued our way down the rest of Illinois Gulch. The hill descent down the trail had some snow on our path, but the snow was not very deep. It just made it more fun and kept it looking very pretty. At the bottom of the hill in the flat tree area, the snow got a little deeper but still not that deep.
We ran into two trucks near the end of Illinois Gulch. They stopped and asked a few questions about the area. We went around them and did not see them again. We headed off to our next trail in the area.
