Holy Cross
We aired down by the campground near Highway 24 and County Road 703. We then started down the long drive down the county road to the trailhead for Holy Cross.
It was nice driving down the one-way part of Holy Cross with only one stop that made the one-way part hard. There were big rocks and trees in the way, but we both did not have any issues with the stop. That's were we ran into the first group of people running Holy Cross, as well.
Soon, we got to our first obstacle that was a steep and tippy ledge climb. On the way back, Niko would take the trail on the right side and he broke his passenger side mirror off his Jeep. That would be the only trail damage of the day.
As we continued down Holy Cross, we ran into two more groups of people making their way up the steep, tippy stop before French Creek. It was fun watching some of the big rock crawlers take the hardest possible way up. Matt and Niko went up the far right side because that was on the harder side. Niko did make it up without winching. He only has a front locker, so that was pretty awesome.
Soon after that we made it to French Creek. And once again we got to watch the rock crawlers go through French Creek the hard way. Matt took the center line through the water and rocks. At the end of his line, he got a wheel off the ground. Niko took the line just to the left of what Matt took. After a few tries Niko would make it through French Creek, too.
Soon after French Creek we came to were the tippy tree was. Now, it is just a steep, tippy hill climb. Matt and Niko went up the tippy hill climb to the far left. It took both of them a few tries to make it up.
The rest of the trail was not bad at all, and soon we were at the town of Holy Cross. There were a lot of Jeeps and rock crawlers parked all over the place.
We turned around at the old buildings and headed down, not doing the rest of the trail after Holy Cross. We ran into a few more groups of people making their way up the trail on our way back down.
We drove down to the same campground near Highway 24 to air back up. It was a fun day with very nice weather and very little trail damage.
