Hackett Gulch
This was our second trail of the day. Hackett Gulch was new trail for both of us so we were really looking forward to checking it out. We turned off of Cedar Mountain Road to start the new trail.
The first part of Hackett Gulch was not very hard. It had a few hill climbs and descents with off-camber parts. Nothing was too much to handle.
Then we came up to the washed-out section. The trail split around a tree, and we went up the right side. Neither of us had any issues with the wash out. Then, at Hackett Rock, we both went up with few problems. It was a fun section.
The descent to the end of the trail was not hard, either. It made for a nice, relaxed drive down to the end of the Hackett Gulch where the rest of the former trail is now closed. After a brief stop to look around, we made our way back up to the start of Hackett Gulch. We did not have any issues on the way back, either. We did run into some other people that were making their way down Hackett Gulch but it wasn't difficult for our groups to pass each other on the trail.
After Hackett Gulch we did a little more of Cedar Mountain Road and then we left that trail again to do Longwater Gulch.
