Georgia Pass
Technically, we only ran the challenging half of Georgia Pass. We came off of S.O.B. Hill at the pass and then headed down toward Breckenridge, skipping the portion that heads down to Jefferson. At the pass, there were lots of people. It seemed like everyone was out, and we had already seen lots and lots of people on Swan River. Even S.O.B. Hill had people on it that were going in the opposite direction, making things challenging. Still, the weather was perfect and it was a good day.
We only ran across a few people on their way up. The hill on the way down was steep and rocky, but fun. It seemed like erosion had really changed things near the pass, with big ditches and confusing sections where you weren't sure which path was the correct trail.
It's definitely a bumpy trail, with lots of small, loose rocks. That usually means we're quiet as we bounce around, and that trip was no exception.
We came to the old house and Julie and Monica remembered when we came to it last time and it was so trashed. It was still not a nice or clean area, but it could have been a lot worse. Trails close to Denver will always be a bit more trashed by people who aren't used to taking care of the mountains. This place on Georgia Pass is just one of those spots.
We always tell ourselves not to go fast through water, but then when we get to it we have to splash a bit. The portion of the trail that has Swan River in it is a fun spot, and we all took our time splashing through it. No one went fast enough to make their Jeeps unhappy, though, so it was all fun.
After that, it didn't take long to get back to Tiger Road. Bryan had to head for home with a sick kid, so we left him there to air up and continue on. The rest of us headed to Peak 10 for the first "girls run" ever.
