Fireman Hill
We decided to take Fireman Hill on the way back down, even though it isn't usually done in that direction.
Fireman Hill doesn't look like it has been used much at the top, and it is very narrow. A vehicle much bigger than a Jeep Wrangler would have a difficult time fitting between the trees. The trail quickly opened up into some great views of the Front Range, Boulder Reservoir and the area burned by fire a few years ago.
The trail is really not very difficult until the bottom of the hill. We were looking forward to seeing the Chutes, because that was supposed to be a pretty difficult obstacle. When we got to the Chutes at the bottom, we found a fallen tree blocking the difficult area. It is a big, dug-out hill but it seems like it might be closed at the moment.
There are several options at this part of the trail, and none appear to be more used than the others. We assumed that some maintenance needed to be done to force the proper trail selection around or through the Chutes, if the fallen tree was not a hint.
This ended up being a fun way to get through this network of trails. We headed through the Five Points area and back out through the lower portion of Left Hand Canyon. We also hoped that the Chutes wasn't permanently closed. It was difficult to tell.
