This was Monica's second run of Fins & Things, a favorite trail. It's so great going what feels like straight up and down so much!

The weather was clearing up though it was still a little chilly at some points throughout the day.

Kendall was navigator and managed to get us lost for about an hour, which was more funny than annoying. If you see a long ledge with three sections -- a steeper one on the left, a medium one in the middle, then flat rock on the right -- you're lost. It goes up to the top and a lookout dead end, then around in a big circle. We did the circle twice (HA!) then Kendall found our way out. He was demoted and was no longer our navigator for the rest of the trail. Monica got everyone lost a couple of times the day before on Sevenmile Rim so it was Kendall's turn I guess.

This trail is always a lot of fun, and we met some people in two CJs that we ended up running this trail and Hell's Revenge with. They had a camcorder attached to their rollbar in the middle and could tape while they were rolling. Good idea!

We had a “classic Moab” trip planned for the fall, when we’d do a few of the most popular trails in the area.  We usually try to do more new trails and explore new areas, but sometimes we just need some slickrock.  The Fins & Things trail has the best…
