Eagle Rock
Eagle Rock was the first trail of the day. We'd had sunshine every day before, but the day started cloudy and cold. We aired down before starting the long drive down Old Stage Road to the start of Eagle Rock. As we got closer to the start of Eagle Rock, it started clearing up, and later, the sun came out as we were above the clouds.
At the pond, the area was dry with no water in the pond basin.
The rock hill climb area did have small patches of snow in a few spots. Mostly in the area around the trees and not on the trail.
Matt made it up the hill climb with all the big rocks without any issues. Jason needed a spotter for a few spots. He also didn’t have much of an issue with the rocky hill climb.
After the rocky area, we drove higher up to above 10,000 feet and there was a lot more snow on the trail. At one spot where the trail was off camber just a little, both Matt and Jason’s Jeeps slid down to the bottom edge of the trail and stopped. They both jumped a bit from the slide on the ice and snow.
The rest of Eagle Rock was dug up a lot more than a few years ago, but it was very fun to drive the trail.
