We all met at the gas station in the town of Johnson Village. When we got there, we saw a lot of Jeeps getting gas and meeting up with their groups.

We made it to the parking area at the start of Chinaman Gulch and aired down. As we were leaving the parking area, we saw a very long line of Jeeps coming down the dirt road toward the parking area. We were glad that we were going to be in front of the large group!

The first hill at the start of Chinaman Gulch was fun going up. We all made it to the top with very few problems. The hill was dug up a lot more than last year.

Everybody had fun in the Rock Garden. We took our time going through the twisty obstacle.

We had a small group of Jeeps run into us before the Rock Pile, and they were moving faster than we were going.

At the Rock Pile, Matt took the center line and Jason tried the right-side line through the obstacle. They both did not have any issues with the Rock Pile -- just a lot of fun.

When we got to Whale's Tail, we ran into a group that was just starting to go up. Two people from the group tried going up the left side of Whale's Tail. The first Jeep almost made it, but then didn’t in the end. The second person from that group had a 4-Runner with 39-inch tires on the truck with solid axels. The 4-Runner made it up and over Whale's Tail on the left side. It was fun to watch.

Matt took the center line up Whale's Tail, and the rest of the group would take the right line up Whale's Tail.

Soon, we made it to the Stairs where we ran into the group in front of us. We stopped for lunch and Matt played around on the Stairs for a short time. It did not take long for a group to show up at the Stairs with us. We watched that group play on the obstacle.

The Chute looked like it was going be harder this year, but we all made it up the obstacle in one try each. Sometimes, things that look hard do not turn out being that bad at all!

On the way out we stopped at the top of Carnage Canyon. We got to watch two big Jeeps make their way up the last part of Carnage Canyon. It was mostly winch work for the Jeeps to get to the top. There was a third person in that group that was at the top when we got to the top of Carnage Canyon.

We aired up in the parking area and then we all went home. It was a great day to be on the trail and we all had fun with great weather.

We did not run Chinaman Gulch last year due to the COVID pandemic, so it was good to get back on the trail this year. Jason and Matt met up in Woodland Park for the drive out to Chinaman Gulch. We both stopped for fuel at a gas station near…
