Monica found a GPS track named Cave Trail on the Internet somewhere, and it was right across from where Kane Creek Canyon ended. It's always time for a new trail. From the sound of it, it had to have at least one cave near it so we were off on a cave hunt. We found the trailhead easily and went through a gate.

The main trail was very easy all the way to the end. However, it had lots of spurs off of it and we decided to try every one of them looking for caves. The first spur ended at slickrock and an alcove. We found a small hole near the bottom and Walt posed next to it just in case that was the cave. Could it be?

We stretched our legs for a bit longer and then headed back to the main trail. We checked out the next two spurs but they quickly ended at campsites. We scanned the rocks near us for caves.

The fourth spur ended up with trouble for Monica. There was a turnaround though the trail kept going. Monica said she'd go a little distance in to let people know how it was and why there was a turnaround. She didn't get too far in before she realized it was too skinny for her Jeep -- it was an ATV trail. Not only that, there were rocks on both sides that gave her nowhere to turn around. She had to go farther to a wider spot. She got out and walked up the trail a bit to see if it ended soon.

The trail just kept going. It was maintained and very nice, for an ATV anyway. She finally walked back down to her Jeep and did a 10-point turn to head back down. But she needed a spot so Mike and Walt came up to help. But it was really, really narrow. It wasn't easy getting back out.

The end result was dented and scraped rocker guards and two fender flares that were really messed up and hanging off of Monica's Jeep. Trail damage on this trail? Really? Great!

We went back to the main trail and found the cave on the next spur. It was pretty high up on the wall, but Matt likes climbing so he was up it in a flash. He said it wasn't anything special.

The last spur was yet another campsite so we ended up airing up soon after that. We went through the last gate and we were back on pavement and heading back to Moab. It was a great day!
