California Gulch
California Gulch is an easy trail, and we didn't encounter much traffic.
The first thing we came up on was Columbus Mine, and we did not stop. We still had a lot of miles to cover, so we just took a picture or two.
As we went up the valley to the switchbacks, we ran into a small group of off-road vehicles also driving up the switchbacks. We all stopped at the top of California Gulch to enjoy the views of the lake down below. The lake had a very cool emerald-blue color.
The switch back on the way down did not give us any issues, and we headed off to the next trail.
