Pomeroy Lakes
Pomeroy Lakes was the second and last trail of the day. We had a great time on Iron Chest, first.
It was easy going up to the small, old cabin. We passed a few side-by-sides. One of them told us that there was a big tree down and they could not get past the tree. We hoped we would have better luck.
We stopped at the old cabin and walked around for some time. Brian told us that he had a small, 16-inch electric chain saw with him. Perfect! So, we decided to drive and try to find the tree and see if we could remove it from the trail.
After a short drive down the Pomeroy Lakes trail, we indeed came upon the downed tree laying all the way across the trail, blocking it completely. Matt took a closer look and thought he could cut the center of the tree out to clear the trail so we all could drive past the fallen tree.
After a short time, Matt got the tree all cut up and moved to the side, and the Pomeroy Lakes trail was open again!
The rest of the trail did not give us any issues, even with the snow getting a little deeper. At the lake, we all parked in a straight line for a picture. And then we walked down to the shore of the lake.
On the way back down the Pomeroy Lakes trail we ran into two groups of off-road vehicles driving up to Pomeroy Lakes. We went to the trailer parking lot to air back up and then went home. It was a fun day!
