Mount Baldy
Mount Baldy was the only other trail for the day after we did Eagle Rock. It was still sunny out.
Most of Mount Baldy was also dry and easy driving until we got above 10,000 feet because there was also snow on the trail at elevation. There were quite a few snow drifts and it was still pretty deep in some spots. We did not have any trouble with the snow until we came to the shelf road of Mount Baldy.
When we reached the shelf road near the end of the trail, the trail became very uneven and off camber. At seemed just too tippy and dangerous, so we turned around at this point. It looked like if the Jeeps were to start sliding off the trail there would be nothing to stop them from sliding off the trail and down the mountain side.
As we were driving back down Mount Baldy, we ran into a few groups of off-road trucks and some people on dirt bikes. There were no difficult conditions on the trail below 10.000 feet, so driving back was uneventful.
At the end of Mount Baldy, we took Old Stage Road for the way out and aired up at the end of Old Stage Road. It was a great day of sun and snow.
