Grizzly Lake
Grizzly Lake was our only trail for the day. It looked like it was going to be a nice, sunny and warm day on the trail.
On the way to Grizzly Lake we saw a lot of people near the other trailheads. There were cars, trucks and trailers parked on both sides of the road. One truck and trailer was even blocking the road.
After airing down, it only took a few minutes to get to the only big obstacle at the water crossing. Just as we got ready to go across the creek and up the ledge there was a group coming down, so we waited until they were down. That group spent the night camping at Grizzly Lake. They said that they were the only group on the trail.
We thought that it would take some time for us to get over the obstacle at the creek, especially because we didn't all make it last time. But we all went up the obstacle with no problems.
After the obstacle, the trail got very steep for a short section. It kept going up the valley towards the lake on loose rocks with some bigger rocks to drive over. We all had some fun with the steep part of the trail.
The rest of the Grizzly Lake trail was in and out of the trees with some pretty tight spots and one more small creek crossing.
We stopped at Grizzly Lake for lunch and walked around some. We were at the Grizzly Lake for an hour or so, and it was very nice.
After lunch we started back down the trail the way we came in. We ran into a few hikers who were enjoying the nice day, as well.
None of us had any issues on the way down until the obstacle at the water crossing near the start of Grizzly Lake. Carter hit his trailer plug on the back of his Jeep and ripped it off. So, we just zip-tied it up and removed the fuse for the trail wiring.
We had a great time driving up to Grizzly Lake, especially because we all made it!
