Kitson Reservoir
To round out out our loop, we finished with Kitson Reservoir. The western end was the best, and we talked about how nice it would be to camp there. We came off of Bonham Reservoir, and headed over to the Cottonwood Lakes.
We didn't see any cottonwood trees, so the lakes had some strange names. There were a lot of people at Cottonwood Lake Number 1, but that wasn't surprising. It was a gorgeous lake, and people were fishing everywhere. It was too bad we didn't have time to do the hikes. There would be a lot to do and see if you stayed here, so it was really pretty perfect.
Cottonwood Lake Number 4 had a smaller turnaround, and we chatted with the people camping there. They had a nice spot, and they said they used it every year. We could see why, though there were a lot of mosquitoes.
We soon headed out, around Kitson Reservoir, taking a side trip to do Neversweat Reservoir. Then we headed out to the trailhead along the easy road.
It wasn't very late, but we'd had a long night the night before and we were looking forward to being back at camp in the early evening. We had a lot of time for dinner, hanging out at the campfire, and telling stories. We also had enough time after following Lakeshore Drive out to go to the Visitor Center, which was a nice addition to a perfect day.
