Deadman Point
We'd been meaning to do Deadman Point for at least a decade, but we never got around to it. We were finally on it, and it wasn't much to look at for the first section. Just wide open expanses of desert. Though that is scenic in its own way, it wasn't what we came for.
There were spurs all over the place, and we would need to explore them one day. It wouldn't be that day, though, because we still had a lot of miles to cover before sundown. So, we headed for the overlook that seemed closest to us, the one that would get us to the edge the most quickly.
We found the path we were looking for, and the trail definitely wasn't well used. It's possible that most people take other spurs, but this one worked out well. We parked at the circle at the end, got out, and walked over to the edge on a hill of slickrock.
The views were awesome! We looked down at the Green River at Bowknot Bend and took a lot of photos. It was windy, but the temperatures were warming up. It was pretty cool. We didn't think we were going to go down and finish the rest of Spring Canyon Bottom, but we decided then that we'd go check things out. We'd been to the top, and it was time to see the bottom. We headed back out to the trailhead to finish Spring Canyon Bottom.
